I LOVE MUD!

Our neighbor across the street is gone on a 2 week trip to Alaska and my Lab friend, Luke, stayed behind and mom and dad are taking care of him. He stays in their backyard and we either go over there and play in the backyard with him or we bring him to our backyard to play. The first day we went to his backyard and I found a big mud puddle behind the storage building and boy, did I have a fun time! Mom and dad laughed so hard! They didn't know it was back there until I found it. Luke didn't seem to excited about it. I guess he has played in it already so it wasn't a big deal to him. 
They have a pool like we do and I like their's better. It has a wide step across it and I can get in it by myself and lay down. I still don't want to get all the way in like Luke does. He can swim back and forth across. I just watch him but I don't want to try it. We will have a lot of fun over the next 2 weeks playing every night. It wears Luke out fast because he is a lot older than me.

Note from Mom:
That boy LOVES mud! thank goodness for the wading pool. It is an easy bathtub! He gets right in and lays down and rolls over just like in the mud so he was clean just as fast as he got muddy. Little pig.
Having Luke to play with for a couple of hours each evening will be good for Opie. Luke is 6 years old. He will put up with a lot from Opie but he doesn't mind putting him in his place if Opie gets too rough.

OUR New Chair!

Since I have more than doubled my weight since I got adopted, me and mom have outgrown our old recliner. I couldn't sit with dad any more because he is big, too. Mom is not so big, but we took up all the room in the chair and she says I was smothering her. 
So...we bought 2 new recliners! They are both EXTRA BIG so I can fit OK for now. Dad picked out a nice dark brown leather and mom wanted a light colored fabric. They were delivered this weekend and we have relaxed a lot!

Note from Mom: Both recliners are very roomy and comfortable. We ordered them from LaZBoy furniture and had them within the week. Fortunately they had them in the warehouse so it was pretty quick. Opie can hop up without any problems. I chose a light color because he sits with me the most and since he does shed, I knew it would be easier to keep clean. We had them treated so we shouldn't have any problems. 

The Pet Resort

Mom says I'm going to be a regular at the pet resort. I am going to get to go twice a week for group play.  I have been there to play 3 times and they say I'm one of the favorites and play good with my friends. I'm really glad because I get lots of playtime and hang out with all buddies. 

Note from Mom: I almost so glad we have a place that does not discriminate against the bully breeds. It should be the dog that causes trouble gets banned from places, not the breed. They all love Opie and say is really socialized well. Any bully breed will get along with others if socialized at a young age and has plenty of opportunities to be around different kinds of situations. 

My 6 Months Birthday!

Today I am 6 months old and I weigh 47 pounds. I am one happy and lucky pup.

Note from Mom: I am trying to make the most of this puppy stage. I know it won't last forever. He seems to be growing in leaps and bounds. Starting out at 17 pounds when we got him and now at 45! I can't wait to see how big he will get when full grown but for now I just want to enjoy him as a baby.

Ah Man, Mom's Back At Work

Well, Summer is over for me. Boo Hiss! My mom went back to work this week and that means I don't get to hang with her all day. We had some fun times. She says that she will let me go to the pet resort at least one day a week so I can be with my friends. I have to get over my cold first. I am feeling pretty good, but I am still on my antibiotics.

Note from Mom: I just hate that I have to leave him alone all day. I go home for lunch every day for one hour so at least we have that much. I want him to have at least one day per week to run and have fun at the pet resort. It will be totally worth it. Plus hubby and I will take him to the dog park in the evenings starting next week after he has taken all of his antibiotics and cleared from the vet.

My First Bad Cold

I have had a runny nose. Sneezing fits. Watery eyes. I didn't feel like playing much and I didn't feel like eating much. Mom took me to the doctor today and they said I have an upper respiratory infection. They took chest X Rays and mom was super happy my lungs are clear. I am taking antibiotics so I should be feeling better soon.

Note from Mom: my poor baby - I don't like him being sick. He wants to play so I know he is feeling better already. 

I Graduated!

Today was my graduation for my first 6 weeks of training. I had so much fun and can't wait to start my next classes in 3 weeks. They tried to put a graduation cap on me but I didn't like it and they finally gave up. I took classes at Petsmart. 

Note from Mom: he did great showing off his skills and I even got him to high 5 and rollover. For graduation he had to sit, down, leave it and shake. He could actually do all of those before training but it as still good for the socialization and structured setting.
